This issue features an interview with the famous Italian artist Enzo Migneco, also widely known by his another name Togo. As a member of the Milanese cultural association “Livia e Virgilio Montani (LVM)”, his artworks have been exhibited in numerous art institutions, galleries and art fairs. He is frequently mentioned in art publications and catalogs of contemporary paintings, and numerous press articles in journals and magazines have been devoted to him. During his long career, he has received prestigious international awards. The wonderful works he has produced have been included in the collections of prestigious art institutions such as the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, the Silesian Museum in Katowice (Poland), the Lucio Barbera Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Messina, the Palazzo Sacchinelli in Corneto, and can be seen in the Bertarelli Collection series at the Castello Sforzesco in Milan as well.

 Italian artist(Enzo Migneco)

As the nephew of the famous Italian painter Giuseppe Migneco (1908-1997) - an artist who specialized in depicting scenes of labouring work in a naive and expressionist style - Enzo Migneco took his name from his uncle. He has been painting since his childhood, and in interview he said that “My paintings and I were born together”.

Fortunately, in his youth, Enzo Migneco found the approach to complete expression of his art of painting, which was influenced by the French masters of Impressionism, Expressionism and Cubism. He prefers to think of himself as the child of Matisse, Gauguin, Van Gogh, and even more so of Picasso of his late period, which means that he was able to express his feelings in a more genuine way, largely regardless of the market that was after him, as he says, “Usually, it is the contrary”, Enzo Migneco emphasized.

It is on the basis of such family and artistic traditions, Enzo Migneco's art is more willing to capture the essence of things, express his love for the world, and translate all his personalexperienced emotions into the contours and colors on the screen, perpendicular or parallel, bright or shadowy, flowing or static, dazzling or silent. The more poetic expression from the critics is “Everything becomes a memory, a touch, an experience, a walk, a dive, a crossing of the channel, a fishing expedition, and even a nap on a hot day”.

WOAC Executive President Rachel Qin and Enzo Migneco

In the spring of 2023, Rachel Qin, WOAC Executive President, and Michele Genoves, President of WOAC Advisory Committee, were invited to visit Enzo Migneco's studio in Milan, where they presented Mr. Migneco with the certificate from OLYMP'ARTS Academic Experts Committee, inviting him to co-operate with the global promotion of the OLYMP'ARTS 2023.

Regarding the theme of OLYMP'ARTS 2023 “Environment, Climate and Energy”, Enzo Migneco expressed his approval and affirmation. About energy, he hoped that human beings could make better use of all energy sources including solar energy, so as to make energy truly benefit human beings; as for environment, he believed that energy could be created ifexploited properly, which is crucial for the future of human beings. At the same time, he believes that art has the power of spontaneous act and mobility. With regard to “environment, climate and energy”, a wide range of art forms including paintings, literature, music and even poetry, have always given great driving force to progress of mankind.
