His interest in the philosophy of art led him to study for a Doctoral thesis at the Sorbonne on the theme of "Empty painting, the meaning of the work and the games of art". Mr. Pasanen taught Philosophy of Art in Helsinki and Paris, and served as a Director of the Finnish Cultural Institute in Paris for three years. His work has been the subject of personal and international group exhibitions in New York, Beijing, Tokyo, Toronto, Rome, Seoul, Helsinki and naturally in Paris.
